Benjamin's death certificate is recorded in Missouri and is accessible on-line. It clearly lists his mother and father's name. It says he has lived in the commuity (Bates Co., MO) for 40 years so he must have arrived about 1900.

I was searching for information on Mumaus to see if I could find who Benjamin Mumau of Bates Co, MO married as his 2nd wife. Lula had previously been married to Harve Miller but her maiden name is unknown (that is what I'm trying to find). Lula and Harve Miller were also living in Bates Co, Mo in 1900. In 1910, Lula Miller and her 2 daughters are in Cass Co, Nebraska and she is a widow. Cass County is where Lula married Harve Miller, at which time she was known as Lula Galley. Family tradition says that Philip Galley took her in and raised her. In 1920 Lula is back in Bates Co married to Benjamin and in 1930 they are still there. Lula's son, Alfred Lee Miller, is living with them in 1930 and is how I found Lula. The family did not know she had remarried. Lula died in California in 04 January 1965 at the age of 94 years. No parental information is given in the online California Death index.
While I know this doesn't help your Mumau research much, I thought you might be interested in what I've presented above.
