Veryle L. Mumma
Veryle L. (Pap) Mumma, 74, Chambersburg, died Saturday, June 10, 1995 at the Chmbersburg Hospital. Born May 1, 1921 in McConnellsburg, he was a son of the late Daniel M. and Goldie Kelso Mumma. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church, Harrisonville; former employee of PennDOT, Franklin Co., retired from Cumberland Valley Coop after 17 1/2 years and was a volunteer for the past ten years for Chambersburg Food Pantry. Surviving are his wife Beulah Mellott Mumma, whom he married November 25, 1943. Also surviving are four daughters: Audrey Weller and Helen Rodkey, both of Chambersburg; Ethel Kelley and Janet Holl, both of Hagerstown; two sons: Veryle, Jr. and Frank, both of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; three sisters; Georgia Tosten and Betty Anderson, both of Greencastle and Beulah Strait, Needmore; two brothers; Wayne, Hagerstown and Ivan, HCR 75, McConnellsburg. A daughter, Susie Dorine Mumma, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at the Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church, Harrisonville. Rev. Daniel Porterfield officated. Burial was made in the church cemetery. The Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., Harrisonville, was in charge of interment. Obituary found in the FCHS obituary file, 2002
