1900 and 1910 Federal Censuses indicate she had 3 children 2 are living at that time.
Her obituary reads:
Mrs. Sarah Francis Mumma, died at her home near Laidig, Penna. February 16, 1940 following a severe attack of pneumonia. Mrs. Mumma had been an invalid for a number of years. The deceased was born in Licking Creek Township August 3, 1872 and was 68 years of age at the time of her death. She was a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary DeShong. Her husband preceded her in death about one year ago. She leaves to mourn her passing the following children: Mary, wife of Ira Lake, Laidig, Pa., and Julia, wife of Carl hann, Laidig, Penna. The following brothers and sisters survive: Harry DeShong, McConnellsburg, Edward DeShong, Carinbrook, Penna. and Mrs. Rebecca Batdorff, McConnellsburg, Pa. Mrs. Mumma was a consistent member of the Green Hill Methodist Church for over fifty years. Funeral services were held Monday February 19, under the direction of Rev. Paul Myers. Interment was made in the Green Hill Methodist Church cemetery. Obituary found in the FCHS obituary file, 2002
