Notes:
"I have a copy of a 1925 Petition in the Court of Common Pleas of Huntingdon County, Pa. for the estate of Daniel and Barbara Stong listed are over 100 descendants and their spouses from across the country that were entitled to a share of the proceeds from the sale of the old Daniel Stong homestead. The farm was sold at auction for $1,500 but the attorney's bill for services and expenses was exactly $1,500. So nothing was left to divide among the heirs!
Anyhow, included in the heirs and descendants were Mrs. Myrtle Mumma who was intermarried with John Mumma of Burnt Cabins, Fulton County, and Mrs. Annie Mumma, who was intermarried with George Mumma, who lived on Columbia Ave., Denver, Colorado, and Ira and Delcy Miller Mumma of 430 Campbell St., Wilkinsburg, Pa.
The 'Descendants of James B. Mumma G.A.R.' that I received a while back lists John Henry Mumma married to Myrtle W. Gallagher, daughter of Robert Gallagher and Elizabeth Strong. I believe Elizabeth should be a Stong instead of Strong. This Elizabeth is the same mentioned in the file I received 'Descendants of Hugh Gallagher', born 1844 and died 1890. She is also the same Elizabeth in my Stong line. Elizabeth is the daughter of Adam Stong and Elizabeth Naugle. The Stong line I have back to Johann Jacob Stong b5/20/1667 in Roedelsee, Upper Franconia (Unterfranken), Bavaria, Germany." Source: email from Ed Bell. (He is a researcher of the Ira and Delsie Miller Mumma line. He is connected to the Mummas from two seperate ancestoral lines.) Please contact him if interested in these branches of Mummas.
