"Blair was raised by Gilbert & Roxy Deshong but was not formally adopted by them although he assumed the Deshong name. His birth mother (Sara Fagley) died of tuberculosis at Mt. Alto Sanitorium about 1943 when she was in her 20's. She is buried at Sideling Hill Cemetery . She "willed" Blair to Roxy & Gilbert to be raised by them. Sara's father's name was Trout Fagley, with whom Blair traveled around the area before he started living with Gilbert & Roxy. Blair's father's name was reportedly Gladfelter..."
