Jeremy Scott "J" Mumma, age 46, of Mercersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg, PA. Jeremy was born on January 2, 1977, in Chambersburg, PA, the son of the late John Lewis Mumma and Debra J. Christy Mumma of Mercersburg, PA. Prior to his illness, Jeremy worked as a Mason and an Arborist. Jeremy was an avid dirt track racing fan and raced at Path Valley Speedway. He enjoyed kayaking, camping, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors. But his greatest joy was spending time with his family and his dog, Goliath.
Jeremy is survived by his mother, Debra Mumma of Mercersburg, PA, one son, Cody John Mumma of Chambersburg, PA; two daughters, Paige Marie (Companion of Nicholas) Mumma of Mercersburg, PA, and Katelyn Elizabeth Mumma of Mercersburg, PA; one brother, John (husband of Kindra) Mumma, Jr. of Illinois; two sisters, Misty (wife of Dan) Conner of Frostburg, MD, Robyn Mills of Mercersburg, PA; and several nieces and nephews whom he adored, Liam, Savanna, Kaydence, Keira, John Ivan, Bubby and Sophie.
Jeremy is preceded in death by his father, John Lewis Mumma, his grandparents, Ivan and Polly Mumma, Merle Christy and Eathel Weller Thatcher, and several uncles.
A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Nazarene Church in Harrisonville, PA at 1:00 pm with visitation at the church from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. Interment will immediately follow at the church cemetery. The family has entrusted Jeremy's care to Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in McConnellsburg, PA.
