Hiram Mellott served in the 185th Regiment Co., H during the
American Civil War. He was discharged in 1865. In 1879 he moved
to Rays Hill, Bedford Co., Pa. and opened a grange store named H.
Mellott & Co.

Hiram King Mellott built a grist mill in Needmore, Pa. His
tombstone spells his name "Malot". He was an American Civil War veteran.
He served in the 185th Regt. Co. H, and was discharged in 1865. In 1879 he operated the H. Mellott & Co., Grange Store.
