"MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Fred Robinson Jr., 66, of 7550 Robinson Road, died Friday, July 31, 1998, at his home. Born June 30, 1932, near Mercersburg, he was the son of the Rev. Fred L. Robinson Sr. of Mercersburg and the late Carrie Kuhn Robinson. He was a former employee of Lowengart Co. of Mercersburg. He also had been employed by Mico Home Building Co. of Fayetteville, Pa., and DeRose Industries of Chambersburg, Pa. He worked for 27 years at T.B. Woods and Sons of Chambersburg. After he retired from T.B. Woods, he was a subcontractor for Globe/Advantage Lift of Williamson, Pa.; and D.L. Martin Co. of Mercersburg. He also was a self-employed water dowser. He was a member of Clayton Memorial Church of God of Mercersburg. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Della M. Stokes Robinson, whom he married Oct. 7, 1949; three daughters, Sarah E. Bourne Long of Shippensburg, Pa., and Beverly Widdows and Susan Egolf, both of Mercersburg; three sons, Terry L. Robinson and Dana L. Robinson, both of Mercersburg, and Lawrence D. Robinson of Spring Run, Pa.; seven sisters, Velma Schooley, Dorcas Mellott, Shelby Carbaugh, Joyce Zeger, Bonnie Harbel, all of Mercersburg, Sharon Ott of Greencastle, Pa., and Devonia Fox of Glen Dale, W.Va.; four brothers, Carl L. Robinson, Paul D. Robinson, Donald D. Robinson, all of Mercersburg, and Bobbie Robinson of Chambersburg; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother. Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Clayton Memorial Church of God, 6701 Charlestown Road, Mercersburg. The Revs. Kelly Shope, Floyd E. Myers and Sarah E. Clayton will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg. Viewing will be Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg; and on Monday one hour prior to the services at the church."

"Rev. Fred L. 'Pete' Robinson, Sr., 87, Mercersburg, died Friday, September 8, 2000 at 1:03 a.m. in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born July 28, 1913 near Mercersburg, he was a son of the late George Lambert and Annie Elizabeth Custer Robinson. He was a former employee of the former Mercersburg Tannery. He retired from D.L. Martin Company, Mercersburg in 1980. He was a member of Clayton Memorial Church of God, Mercersburg. He was a licensed and ordained Pentecostal minister and pastored Horse Valley Church, in Horse Valley from 1963 to 1973. He was a former assistant pastor at Community Pentecostal Mission of St. Thomas. He served on the board and the campground committees of Elkton Pentecostal Churches in Elkton, VA. He enjoyed hunting and was well known for his handmade knives. Surviving are seven daughters: Velma L. (Mrs. Robert N.) Schooley, Dorcas H. (Mrs. Earl C.) Mellott, Shelby J. (Mrs. Tommie R.) Carbaugh, Joyce A. (Mrs. Richard L.) Zeger, Bonnie L. (Mrs. Gary G.) Harbel, all of Mercersburg; Sharon J. (Mrs. Marlin R.) Ott of Greencastle and Devonia K. (Mrs. Robert R.) Fox of Glen Dale, WV; four sons: Carl L. Robinson, Paul D. Robinson, Donald D. Robinson, all of Mercersburg and Bobby A. Robinson of Chambersburg; two foster sons: James Penland of Riverside, CA and Jay Penland of Moreno Valley, CA; 47 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Helen Lynch of Mercersburg and Margaret (Mrs. Nevin) Fleagle of Morgantown, PA; three brothers: Ray D. Robinson, Roy C. Robinson and Earl F. Robinson, all of Mercersburg. He married Carrie Lucinda Kuhn Robinson on December 18, 1931. She preceded him in death on February 21, 1995. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, three grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, two brothers and a sister. Funeral services were held Monday, September 11 at 2:00 p.m. in Clayton Memorial Church of God, Mercersburg. Revs. Albert Kling, Clarence W. DeHart, Jr., Floyd E. Myers and Alvin E. Goetz officiated. Burial was made in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg. The Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Inc., Mercersburg was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Pentecostal Camp Grounds, Box 280, Luray, VA, 22835."
