Phyllis Ann (Clark) Harman died May 10th, 2024 at her home in Woodstock, Virginia, under Hospice Care, after a long illness. Born June 22nd, 1947 in Sweeney, Texas; she was the only child of and preceded in death by Lloyd "Bill" Clark and Mary (Moomau) Clark.
Phyllis graduated from Shenandoah University with a Masters degree in Music Education. While living in Petersburg, WV, she was a member of the Petersburg Presbyterian Church, served as choir director and established the Bell Choir. After moving to Virginia in 1995 she taught piano lessons, being passionate about working with her students. She composed a piano piece titled "Shenandoah". She loved her dogs, plants, and birds. Her hobbies were researching family history, reading, and enjoying nature.
Phyllis is survived by two aunts, Sarah "Sally" (Moomau) King, of Warsaw, Virginia and Jennie Moomau of Silver Spring, Maryland; many cousins; special friends: Ron and Karen Ketter of Oklahoma; Mary Jo Sweeney, Pastor Lance and Norma Braun, Carrie Whetzel, husband Will, and son Preston Bowers, all of Woodstock, Virginia. Phyllis was blessed through the years to have had Carrie Whetzel as her caretaker.
Interment will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg, West Virginia at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice.
