MARVIN "BUSTER" MOOMAU
Marvin Earl "Buster" Moomau, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at South Wind Hospice House, Pratt. Buster was one of three children born to Walter and Fern Pearce Moomau on March 22, 1925, at Medicine Lodge.
He grew up with his two sisters, Icy Cary and Helen Cushenbery.
He attended grade school at Lake City and graduated from high school in Medicine Lodge.
He was a Fraternal Eagle for 45 years, a member of the American Legion for 57 years, and a lifetime member of the VFW in Medicine Lodge. Buster served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church and worked for NCRA as a pumper for 45 years.
He married Ida Belle Kenworthy on Dec. 22, 1944, in Pratt. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Mike and wife Judy of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Sonja Johnson of Halstead, Shawna Juarez of Albuquerque, N.M., and Scott Moomau of El Paso, Texas; five great grandchildren and two sisters, Icy Cary of Colorado and Helen Cushenbery of Goddard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Fern Moomau.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Larrison Mortuary. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the mortuary, with the Rev. Cheryll Armstrong-Kaukis presiding. Burial with military honors will be at Hardtner Cemetery, Hardtner.
