QUINNLYN F. MOOMAU
GREENVILLE - Quinnlyn Felton Moomau, 73, husband of Betty (Corbin) Moomau of 51 Church St., P.O. Box 127, died at 3:45 a.m. Friday (June 1, 2001) in Augusta Medical Center.
He was born in Greenville on Oct. 17, 1927, a son of Ralph Moore Sr. and Virginia (Vines) Moomau.
He was a member of the Greenville United Methodist Church and retired from Navy and Air Force. After retiring from the service, he was employed by Crompton Manufacturing for a number of years before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his parents a son, Edward Wayne Moomau a brother, Rothwell Moore Moomau and a sister, Nedra Zuane Moomau.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married on June 3, 1957 a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Jennifer Moomau of Staunton three daughters, Vickie Dawn Fitzgerald of Greenville, Lyn Virginia Beverage of Staunton and Venie Shibuya of Tokyo, Japan five sisters, Elaine Shifflett of Greenville, Lorraine Miller of Staunton, Dolly Hite of Yorktown, Crannie Campbell of Greenville and Shanny Evans of Hillsborough, N.C. three brothers, Lionel and Alvin Moomau, both of Greenville, and R.M. Moomau Jr. of Staunton a special brother-in-law, Bob Shifflett of Greenville a number of nieces and nephews eight grandchildren, Brittany Fitzgerald, Nathan DeJarnette, Cody and Andrea Moomau, Raven and Sarah Beverage, Utako Shibuya and Kotono Watanabe and one great-grandson, Kei Watanabe and his first wife, Nobuko Kaneko of Tokyo.
A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday in Greenville United Methodist Church by the Revs. Dave Boger and Harley Bender with interment in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony Cooper, Scott Phillips, E.J. Hewit, Ed Wheeler Hestel Lowery, Curtis Riley, Ned Campbell and Marty Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Moomau, Kevin Miller, Rocky and Franklin Moomau, Darryl Oliver, Ronnie Chandler, Ron Shifflett, Jackie Corbin, Bob Lynch and Kim Sprouse.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 this evening in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
