John Wayne Moomaw age 68 of Sophia, WV passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
Born on December 18, 1950 in Shady Spring, he was the son of the late Franklin Wayne Moomaw and Ernestine McCoy Moomaw.
Mr. Moomaw was a retired elevator mechanic/ electrician. He was a US Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Conflict.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years, Martha Sturgill Moomaw; his children, John Wesley Moomaw of Sophia, and Christopher Oran Moomaw and wife Dawna of Chesapeake, OH; A brother Daniel Russell Sterling of Maple Fork; three grandchilden, Casey Wayne Moomaw, Charles Owen Moomaw, and Haylee Rayann Moomaw.
According to Mr. Moomaw's personal request, there will be no services or visitation.
