Services Are Here for Former Onagan
Funeral services for Mrs. M. Genevieve Mumaw, 72, of Topeka will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Tessendorf Chapel, with interment at Onaga Cemetery. Mrs. Mumaw was dead on arrival at a Topeka hospital Tuesday afternoon. She had been ill several years.
She was born September 7, 1899 at Louisville and spent her early life in the Louisville and Laclede communities. She lived in the Onaga community before moving to Topeka in 1956.
Mrs. Mamaw was a teacher and taught many years in elementary schools in and near Onaga. She was a member of Onaga Congregational Church and the War Mothers group in Topeka.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd W. Mumaw, to whom she was married in 1920 at Onaga; a daughter, Mrs. Freda Donovan, Wilmington, Dela.; a son, Lyle E. Mumaw, Belvue; her step-mother, Mrs. Bertha Henderson, New York; a sister, Mrs. Marie Lasswell, St. Clere; two brothers, Tommy Henderson, Inglewood, Calif.; and Cloyd Henderson, Topeka; a half-brother, Donald Henderson, California, and six grandchildren.
A son, Claire Mumaw, was killed in 1945 while serving in the Army in Europe.
