JANET R. MUMMA passed away peacefully, with dignity and grace at her home in Stamford on September 15, 2010. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her death. Janet was born in Bay Shore, N.Y., February 15, 1950, was a Stamford resident for 23 years, and died after a corrageous four year battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her husband, Donald Mumma, and sons, Eric and Scott. Other surviving immediate family members include her mother, Jeraldine Kinzey of Stuart Florida; sisters, Virginia Kinzey, of New York, N.Y. and Georgia Binderow of Palm City Fla.; Scott's wife, Meredith and their two sons, Jack and Daniel Mumma. A Memorial Gathering for friends and family will be held on September 26th from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, located at 2900 Summer Street, Stamford. In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to send a donation to the American Cancer Society.
