Bessie Firestone Mumaugh, age 82, died at 9 a.m. August 27, 2006 at St. Rita's Medical center.
She was born Jan. 10, 1924 in Hurley, N.M. On Oct. 7, 1966 she married Donald E. Mumaugh, who died May 25, 1986.
Mrs. Mumaugh was a legal secretary for several attorneys in Lima. She also worked for the Lima Telephone Co. and in the Lima city income tax office. She was a member of the Bluelick Bible Church. She was formerly a member of the Lima Baptist Temple. She was a musician and played for many citywide crusades in Lima. She was a member of adult Bible class and very active as a Sunday school teacher and piano player. She attended Fort Wayne Bible College in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Survivors include a stepdaughter-in-law, Carol Mumaugh of Lima; longtime friend and caregiver, Leona Booher of Lima; friends, Pastor and Mrs. Ronald B. Cannon of Dothabn, Ala.; and several nieces.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Donald E. Mumaugh Jr.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Ronald B. Cannon will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
