MUMA, Charles F., Jr. - Of Flint, age 84, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 11AM, Monday, April 30, 2007 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Dr. John D. Landis officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park with a military graveside service under auspices of the Marine Corps League Flint Detachment #155 Honor Guard. Visitation 12Noon-8PM Sunday at the funeral home. Chuck was born in Flint, Michigan on November 14, 1922, the son of the late Charles and Mary Muma. He was a resident of the Flint area all of his life. On November 22, 1944 Chuck married Martha Lee Yount in Flint and she preceded him in death on February 3, 1986. Chuck served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Chuck retired from General Motors, AC Spark Plug in June 1982 after 30 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #651. Surviving are children, Gloria (Ed) Thorpe of East Tawas, Carol Stafford of Davison, Pam Freeland of Flint, Charles III (Susan) Muma of Swartz Creek; loving companion, Doris Parmenter of Durand; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Phyllis (John) Ritchings of Higgins Lake, Bernice (Paul) Gardner of California; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Lee; 4 sons-in-law, Tim Doering, Roy Stafford, Don Runnals and Denver Freeland; 2 brothers, Sam and Donald Muma; 2 sisters, Margarete Ketzler and Joyce Dolan.
