James Campbell Rominger
James Campbell Rominger passed away on May 5, 1999, at 70 years of age at Sierra Convalescent Hospital in Davis. Born in San Francisco on April 25, 1929, Mr. Rominger lived his entire life in Yolo County. He graduated from Esparto High School and attended UC Davis, where he played on the football team.
He married Clare E. Mumma in June 1950. He worked with his father, Edwin A. Rominger, in the family ranching business north of Winters, continuing after his father's death until retirement in the mid-1980s.
Mr. Rominger was a Yolo County 4-H All-Star, a lifetime member of the Wool Growers Association, and also a member of the Yolo County Historical Society and the Yolo County Farm Bureau. He was an active member of the Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Winters.
Mr. Rominger is survived by his wife, Clare; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Janice Rominger of Winters and their daughter Tammy, and her children Naomi, Jessie and Isaiah of Davis; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Kevin Quigley, their children, Regina and Todd all of Santa Rosa; son, Douglas of Winters; sister-in-law, Elsie Brown, her husband, Marion of Maxwell; brother-in-law, John Mumma, his wife, Ida of Southern California; and numerous Rominger and Campbell cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 5, at Kraft Bros. Chapel.
A memorial service was held at the Pioneer Presbyterian Church on May 8, at 10 a.m. Reverend Frank Anderson officiated.
Any memorials may be given to Pioneer Presbyterian Church.
