Notes:
Larry E. "Snipe" Mumma, 67, of Dauphin, PA, passed away suddenly Monday, April 23rd, 2012, at his residence.
He was born in Rockville on August 25, 1944, a son of the late Martha M. (Fenton) and Samuel L. Mumma.
He was a machine gunner with the 4th Inf. Div. of the US Army during the Vietnam War achieving the rank of Sgt. He received the Air Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.
He was employed as a warehouse worker at the New Cumberland Army Depot. He was a life member of American Legion Post #1001 and member of VFW Post #148, Verhovay Home Assoc., Dauphin Co. Anglers and Conservationists, William Penn Home Assoc., Dauphin-Middle Paxton Home Assoc., Earl Lahsta City Twilight League and he enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.
Surviving are sisters, Audrey N. Berger, of Harrisburg and Patricia M. Stuppy, of Hardy, VA; five brothers, Samuel L. Mumma, Jr., of Mechanicsburg, Jack A. Mumma, of Dauphin, James M. Mumma, of Susquehanna Twp, Ronald D. Mumma, of Penbrook, and Richard L. Mumma, of Mechanicsburg and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and grand nephews. Larry was preceded in death by a companion, LaVerne L. Wilson.
Memorial service will be on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 1:00pm in the Neumyer Funeral Home, Inc., 1334 N. 2nd St., Harrisburg with Ronald Mumma officiating. Family will receive relatives and friends Monday from noon until time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial with Full Military Honors following the services in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
