Obituary
Mrs Cora Mumaw
Mrs Cora Mumaw, aged 71, of 221 East Paris Street, died at 11:25 P.M. Monday after two days of illness with pneumonia. She was born in Streator Illinois, July 29, 1873, and came here from that city 42 years ago. She was the widow of Henry D. Mumaw, who died 19 years ago. She leaves six daughters, Mrs Mary Ringberg, of Seattle Washington, Mrs Josephine Pinkerton, Mrs Nettie Trittinger, Mrs Alice Veach, all of South Bend, Mrs Sheby Heltzel of Indianapolis, and Mrs Gertrude Sellers of Mishawaka, 10 grandchildren, five sisters, Mrs Nettie Carrol and Miss Mina Quaife of San Francisco, Mrs Laura Vance of Los Angeles California, Mrs Lydia Gridley of Aurora Illinois, and Mrs Jennie Vohs of South Bend Indiana, and a brother Frank Quaife of Streator Illinois. Cora reared three of her grandchildren, Staff Sergeant John H. Trittinger of the United States army, Private (f.c.) Glen Miller with the army in the South Pacific and Miss Corrie Pinkerton at home. She was a member of St. Pauls Memorial Methodist church and of the Ben Hur lodge. Friends will be received in the Earl C. Hollis funeral home Wednesday afternoon.
