JERRY L. MUMMA, 67, passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a self-employed general contractor and craftsman for over 40 years. He enjoyed traveling to Maui, woodworking, assembling his annual Christmas village, growing hibiscus and spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, and awesome grandpa and will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Carol A. Mumma; son, Jerry Scott (fianc? Evon) Mumma; daughters, Teri Sliger, Chris (Allan) George of Fort Wayne and Julie (Curtis) Fee of Auburn; grandchildren, Travis, Emily and Wesley Sliger, Brendan Mumma, Tyler Oswalt, Kacey and Blake George, Carlie, Mitchel and Jessi Fee; brothers, Phil Mumma of Fort Wayne, Michael Mumma of Kendallville, and Richard Mumma of Avilla; sisters, Joan Wagner of Kendallville, Carol Heiman of Avilla and Janet Meyers of Kendallville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey and Merrill Mumma; brother, Gary Mumma. Service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 7211 Stellhorn Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Timothy Graham officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be given in his name to Parkview Home Health and Hospice or Messiah Lutheran Pre-School and Kindergarten.
