Robert Lee Mewmaw
-------------------------------
Robert Lee Mewmaw, 70, formerly of Milan, MO, passed away April 29, 2008 at his home in Kansas City, MO leaving his wife of 49 years, Rita June. Visitation will be held from 3:30-4:30 p.m. followed by funeral service at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Entombment in the Faith Mausoleum at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Bob was born April 16, 1938 in Milan, MO, son of Arthur and Mary (Cable) Mewmaw. On April 26, 1959 Bob married Rita June Smith. Bob and Rita moved to the KC area, where he was employed by Franklin Corp. for 33 years only retiring due to poor health issues. Bob leaves behind two sons, Charles "Butch" Mewmaw of Kansas City, MO and Glenn "Tracy" Mewmaw of Raytown, MO; two daughters-in-law, Becky and Marie; two grandchildren he adored, Tracylynn and Jordan General Lee; one brother Charles, his wife Karen, niece Jodie and nephew Shane of Milan, MO; brother-in-law Bud Smith of New Mexico; and cousins Greg Glidewell, Alice Smith and Janice Long. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Mary Alice Smith. Bob was an avid reader, especially of the Bible, knowledgeable in gun collecting, a John Wayne fanatic, and a lover of Patsy Cline music. He and his grandson enjoyed working on and running the neighborhood in their customized golf cart. Bob researched his family tree all the way back to 1755. His family meant everything to him. Bob was a good husband and a loving father. We could always count on him for anything at anytime. In fitting Bob Mewmaw fashion we end with a quote from the Duke, "See you around Pilgrim." (Arr: Mt. Moriah & Freeman, at 816-942-2004.)
