Kathryn M. Atkinson
Kathryn Mumma Atkinson, 84, of Columbia Cottage, Hershey, and formerly of Villanova, left this life surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 29, 2008.
Born in Rocky River, OH, on December 26 1923, she was the daughter of the late Emory N. and Ruth Benedict Mumma.
Kathryn was a former school teacher at St. Catherine's School in Richmond, VA; a 1945 graduate of Westhampton College, Richmond; a 1941 graduate of Lower Merion High School; was an active member of Bala Cynwyd United Methodist Church; Past President of the AAUW Valley Forge Branch; member of the Hannah Penn Society and former docent at Waynesborough; and a member of the Questers International. She was a good Christian who truly enjoyed life; and loved spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her friends; reading, playing bridge, and traveling.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Atkinson, Jr., on December 24, 2006.
Surviving are one son, John E. Atkinson of Newbury Park, CA; one daughter, Lucille A. Wakefield of Hummelstown; one sister, Marcia Hodges of Orinda, CA; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2008, at 11 a.m., in the Cross Roads Brethren in Christ Cemetery, Florin.
