CORONER SAYS OHIO WOMAN IS SUICIDE
DAYTON, O., Jan. 5. (AP) --- Coroner H. W. Harris recorded as a murder-suicide the shotgun-shooting of 30-year-old Mrs. Eva Gould Mumma and the death a short while later of her estranged husband, Carl, 33.
Mrs. Mumma, a hotel waitress, was killed in her home late Saturday night as she played three-handed bridge with Mr. and Mrs. William Tyler.
Tyler told police Mumma had come to the house, asked to speak to his wife, and remained for a while watching them at the card-table. The charge which killed Mrs. Mumma was fired through a closed window from her front porch steps.
Tyler said he summoned an ambulance and that its arrival a few minutes later was marked by a second shotgun blast that led to finding Mumma's body in a neighbor's yard.
Funeral plans were delayed pending the arrival from Detroit of four of the woman's six brothers.
