"Bill'', beloved husband of Helen Saberton Hyre, father of Charles "Chuck" (Susan) and James "Jay" (Stacey) Hyre. Grandfather of Alexander, Frederick and Alyssa. Mr. Hyre graduated from the College of Engineering at the University of Cincinnati where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. He was in R.O.T.C. and stationed at Aberdeen Proving Ground and then began working for the Ohio Department of Transportation as a Project Engineer, then on to Construction Engineer for the southwestern part of the state. During his time at ODOT he was involved with work on the most major roads in the area. After forty years he retired from ODOT and became Construction Administrator for M.E. Companies and worked on the Butler Regional Highway. He was involved in many dog activities and in the past was a deacon at Madeira Silverwood Presbyterian Church. Resident of Madeira. Thursday, March 19, 2002. Age 71. Funeral service will be Friday, March 22, 12 Noon at the Madeira Silverwood Presbyterian Church, 8000 Miami Ave. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 11 A.M. until time of service. Schmidt-Dhonau Funeral Home serving the family. Donations may be directed to the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
