Nezera Mrozinski
1915-2006
Mrs. Nezera May Mrozinski, 91, of 1978 Green Fern Lane, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and formerly of LaPorte, died of natural causes Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006 at 6:30 a.m. at her home.
She was born July 19, 1915, in Ionia, Mich., to Forrest and Joanna (Genson) Sayles.
Mrs. Mrozinski was a retired sales representative for J.C. Penney Company of LaPorte. She was active in the LaPorte New Church Swedenborgian and Church Women United, both in LaPorte, and attended the First United Methodist Church in Conway, S.C. She was a charter member of the LaPorte County Easter Seal Society until it was disbanded locally, holding various positions, and was also active in the Rolling Prairie Chapter of Parent Teachers Association, as well as at the county and state levels, holding various offices. She was a 1933 graduate of Rolling Prairie High School. She was a volunteer with LaPorte Hospital for many years and was a member of Famous Poets Society. She loved poetry and was an avid writer, having several of her poems honored in the book ?Sparrowgrass Treasured Poems of America.? She enjoyed working closely with and helping crippled children and adults.
On Aug. 11, 1934, she married Ronald H. Mrozinski of LaPorte, who died in October 1990.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; one grandson, Jon; one sister Joyce Hicks; and three brothers, Maurice, Arlen, Forrest Jr Sayles.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy (Richard) Embrey of Myrtle Beach and Judith (Obed) Marston of Harrisonburg, Va.; one son, Thomas Sr. of Sherman, Texas; eight grandchildren, Edward McAlpin, James McKinney, Christine Johnson and Thomas Jr., Michael, James, Donald and Mark Mrozinski; 14 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice Lipke of Knox; and Constance Reynolds of LaPorte;
At the request of the deceased, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place with disposition of the remains to be announced. Palmetto Funeral Home, Conway, S.C., assisted the family.
