Archie Roland. Boyd, 84, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011 at 1:45 p.m. at the Heritage Villa Nursing Center.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the Friends Church in Ramona with Chaplain Mark Bright and Rev. Eric Linville officiating. Interment was in the Ramona Cemetery. Military rites were conducted by American Legion Post 105 Honor Guard. Arrangements were under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
Archie was born January 6, 1927 in Bartlesville to William R. and Alfretta L. (Muma) Boyd. Archie served his country during WWII and returned to graduate from College High School in 1947. After high school he joined the US Navy and served in Korea. He married Bernadine Martin on November 10, 1969 in Nowata, OK. Archie was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of the Friends Church in Ramona, a member of the Dewey VFW and a volunteer fireman in Ramona.
Archie is survived by his wife Bernadine of the home. Three sons; Bob Martin of Collinsville, Kenneth "Buck" Martin of Oologah and Clifford Martin of Ochelata. Two daughters; Patricia Lawson of Skiatook, Geneva Henski of Ochelata, nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of friends.
Archie was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill Boyd.
