RUBY SUE HEATON CARNES, 92
WINTER HAVEN - Mrs. Ruby Carnes 92, died peacefully at her home of ovarian cancer on Saturday, July 23, 2011 in Winter Haven, Florida. Married to Charles D. Carnes for 37 years, she moved to Winter Haven from Bartow in 1964. She was born on December 15, 1918 in Altoona, Alabama. She had two sisters and three brothers. She moved to Florida in the 1920's where she attended Florida schools and graduated from Bartow High School.
Ruby was a member of Lake Region Country Club since 1964 where she served as President of the Ladies Golf Association. She was a member of local garden clubs and Hope Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Muma (son-in-law Leslie Muma) of Clearwater, FL. and Marsha Carnes of Tampa, Fl.; sister Jewel Denham of Bartow, Fl.; four granddaughters Kimberly Lyle Shirley, Lisa Muma Weitz, Michelle Gufrin and Katie Gurle: four grandsons Dwayne Lyle, Shane Lyle, Kenneth Powell and Sam Powell; eight great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
