Karen "Cookie" Mumma, 69, of Bloomfield passed away Thursday September 4, 2014 at home surrounded by her family and friends.
Born December 29, 1944 in Worchester, Mass., the daughter of Harry and Elsie (Wadsworth) DeJaynes.
Cookie was raised in Omaha, Neb., where she married the love of her life Dean Mumma, they where married for 51 years.
She worked at CAAA for 15 years, Crane Ind., Long's Insurance and later became a caretaker for many seniors in the Bloomfield area. She was a member of the Crane Baptist Church, Bloomfield American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 196.
Surviving relatives include her husband of 51 years Dean "Dino" Mumma of Bloomfield, her three children, James (Tammy) Mumma of Springville, Rick (Lisa) Mumma and Helen Lindsey all of Bloomfield; a sister-in-law Pat (Phil) Schmook of Spencer; nine grandchildren: Betsy Mumma, Kaleb Mumma, Logan Mumma, Keenan Mumma, Bryce Lindsey, Mikayla Mumma, Avary Mumma, Payton Mumma and Kyreese Mumma. She has five great grandchildren Desirae Holland, Avelon Mumma, Sam Shorter, Korlan Mumma and Glivia Lindsey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie and Harry DeJaynes, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Helen and George Mumma; three brothers, Harry, Bob and Wayne DeJaynes and one sister Debbie DeJaynes.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 9, 2014 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Richard Crabtree officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Scotland Cemetery.
In Lieu of Flowers the family wishes donations be made to the charity of one's choice.
