MARY MUMAUGH
LIMA ? Mary Mumaugh, 99, of Lima died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home.
She was born September, 1915 in Jasper, AR, to William James and Sarah (Patterson) Mason.
Mary was a lifelong resident and beautician in Lima, owning the Cook Tower Styles Salon, Northland Hair Fashion Beauty Salon, Woodlawn Plaza Beauty Salon, and the Carousel Beauty College through her long career. She wrote beauty columns for the Lima News in the 1960s and hosted many hair shows throughout the years. She worked in the field she loved until the age of 91.
She attended the Light House Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, being out in the sunshine, planting flowers in her yard and going to auctions. Mary was an avid Bingo player and loved going with her family and friends. She was spunky and full of life, staying active, doing the things she loved, well into her 90s. Mary resided at Shawnee Manor for the last few years, making friends and leaving a lasting impression on all who came in contact with her.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Thelma Brown of Lima, a daughter-in-law, Chris Daniels of Williamsburg, VA; 7 grandchildren: Bruce Crum (Lisa) of FL; Terry Oehlhof & Alan Niswonger (Cami) of Dallas, TX; Eric Daniels (Laura) of Northern VA; and Gioia Carpenter, John Crum & Doug Brown, all of Lima. She is also survived by a sister Willa Dean Madison of Middlesboro, KY; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee Mumaugh; a son, Louis Daniels; a daughter, Barbara Van Meter; and siblings, Elmer, Donald, Billy, Lora, Zora, Evelyn, Sudie, Ann and Jim.
On July 11, 2015, there will be a Celebration of Mary's Life at Hart Hall, 1658 W. Breese Rd., Lima, Ohio 45806 from 2:00-5:00 p.m.
