Andrew T Luther Jr, 66 of Rt 10 hagerstown, died Wednesday, Nov 14 at the Washington County Hospital. Born in Baltimore, Md, he was the son of the late Andrew T and Lyda C. Lutts Luther Sr. He was a correctional officer at MCTC and was employed with C&P Telephone for 24 years. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U. S. S. Currituck. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Friendship Lodge 84 AF&AM; Palestine Council 16 R & FM; Ithiel R.A.Chapter 27; Elks Lodge 378 where he was a past exalted ruler; a member of American Legion Funkstown Post 211; and a life member of North American Rod and Gun Club. He was also a member of AARP; and the Democratic State Central Committee from 1967 to 1970 where he served as treasurer. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis R. Stoner Luther; one daughter, Deborah S. Stone of Hagerstown; two sons, Andrew Thomas Luther III and Larry S.Luther, both of Hagerstown; and six grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 am Saturday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. The Rev. Wilson A.Shearer will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 pm, where a Masonic Memorial Service, conducted by Friendship Lodge 84, will be held at 7 pm., followed by a memorial service by Elks Lodge 378 at 7:15 pm.
