Harold was born on April 22, 1927 in Chicago Illinois, to Rosa and Ferdinand Mumma; however, at the age of one-years of age, the family returned to their home in Stavanger Norway. Harold returned to Chicago after World War II and joined the US Army in 1949. Harold served in combat during the Korean War, where he was wounded, receiving a total of three purple hearts. Following the war, he attended The University of Chicago and began work in the insurance industry for "Western Adjustment." In 1955, he was transferred to Wichita, Kansas, where he met and married Joan V. Tennant, formerly of Pond Creek, Oklahoma, in 1956. They raised four children, Gregory "Clay", Kevin, Blake and Mindy (Carpenter) in Wichita. Harold died at the age of 88 years on the morning of Tuesday, September 1, 2015, in the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center-Hospice Wing. He is survived by his wife, children, and countless grandchildren. Harold's ashes will be laid to rest in the Pond Creek, Oklahoma cemetery. Local and grave side serves are by family invite.
