GLADIS 'JOAN' HUNT
Gladis ?Joan? Hunt, 81, Kokomo, went home to Heaven in the loving arms of Jesus, at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012. She was born on Nov. 10, 1930, in Kokomo to the late Merle Jarrett and Violet (Mumaw) Rayn. On May 15, 1948, in Kokomo, she married Kenneth M. Hunt. Mr. Hunt survives.
Joan attended New London High School. She spent most of her time at home raising her three children. She later worked for Delco, a division of General Motors, for 11 years.
She enjoyed ceramics, knitting, crochet, sewing, helping her husband, Ken, work stained glass, cooking, playing cards and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
She attended Courtland Avenue Church of Christ, Kokomo, and Mid-Florida Lakes Christian Church in Leesburg, FL.
Surviving are her husband; three children, Debbi (Rick) Jackson, Kokomo, Michael S. Hunt, Jacksonville, FL, Terri (Randy) White, Angola; six grandchildren, Reed (Missy) Jackson, Kokomo, Michael (Pippa) Hunt Jr., Shelby, AL, Nathanael (Katy) Hunt, Shelby, AL, Joanna Kranz and companion, Ben Donaldson, Kokomo, Erin (Jason) Seeman, Angola, Jason (Kumi) White, Fort Wayne; 11 great-grandchildren; four aunts, Louise Aamoth, Kokomo, Jean Darlin, Kokomo, Phyllis Mumaw, Kokomo, Hideko Mumaw, Oahu, Hawai, and one sister-in-law, Clara Hunt, Kokomo.
Preceding her in death are her parents; two grandsons, R. Shane Jackson and Gabriel Hunt, and one brother, Larry Lee Rayn.
Memorial services will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel. Joan?s son, Minister Michael S. Hunt, will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
