This paperwork fits nicely and lists his DOB as 8 Mar 1924 in Reamstown and states he is living in Ephrata in 1950. He was living in Wormleysburg, Dauphin County in 1943 when he enlisted and was discharged in 1946 at Indiantown Gap.

So, now I know his mother?s name as Carrie Grimes and Donald was illegitimate. I suspect that she is probably Carrie Krimes, the surname that appears in the 1930 census. A search the PA death certificates reveals that a Carrie Esther Krimes died 31 Jan 1929 and she is buried in Muddy Creek. She was born 12 Jan 1893 and is single. Father?s name is Edwin Krimes who is listed in the 1930 census.
