Mary Ann Euverard, 81, of Wilmington, NC, passed away September 17, 2022 at home with her loving family by her side. Mary Ann was born November 8, 1940, in Medina, Ohio, to the late John and Marion Mumaw.
Mary Ann graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1958. Shortly after, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Gary Euverard. The two built an incredible life together and moved to Wilmington in 1979, she loved living here. They were so proud of their children and grandchildren, celebrating all of their achievements. Mary Ann loved watching her family flourish and enjoyed cheering them on at football games, track meets, wrestling tournaments, baseball games, swimming events, and dance recitals. She was so proud of her grandchildren when they both graduated from East Carolina University. Mary Ann loved to take her daughter gambling. They had the best days going out of town to play the slots, hoping for the ?Big Win.? Mary Ann was known for her famous homemade chocolate cake, apple pies, applesauce, and rhubarb sauce, and her blueberry crunch, she liked to take to the office. She made sure that her granddaughters Hannah and Alysha received a cookbook filled with her family recipes.
Mary Ann was a woman with a variety of interests, ranging from painting, fishing, traveling and bowling. She loved visiting Colorado and the beautiful mountains. She was well known in the real estate industry and worked in her field for over 45 years. She started out in sales and moved up to management. She was a BIC for many years, she really enjoyed mentoring and helping everyone, and honoring her ?Top Dogs?. She made many friends throughout her Real Estate career and was looked up to by many. Mary Ann loved animals, especially her grand dogs, Fisher, Fort, and Saydie, and her own furry friend, Sarge.
She was a loyal wife, mother, mother in law, and grandmother. Mary Ann never hesitated to take on the mother role for her extended family and grandchildren and would let them know when she had to reprimand them?if necessary. She welcomed all of them with open arms and always made sure to show them the best of her love. Mary Ann was also a supporter of children with Down Syndrome. Her oldest daughter, Tracy, passed at the age of 7 with Down Syndrome, and it left an enormous hole in her heart. Mary Ann missed her dearly.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Gary Euverard, Sr.; her children, Gary Euverard, Jr. (Karen) and Amy Euverard (James); grandchildren, Gary ?Trey? Euverard III (Alysha), and Hannah White (Troy); and brother, Butch Mumaw. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Euverard; sister, Ila Nixon; and brother, Doug Engler.
