James' death certificate recorded the spelling of his surname as "Warbel", a common alternate spelling. The informant, Ora Gough, was his niece.who was living in Toledo when her uncle died.
The was a significant error made by Dr.John H Warfel when he added a "James Maximilian Warfel" as the son of Samuel and Caroline Warble. This James Warble never lived in New York, but lived in Toledo where his older sister lived. He was single and never married.
