Janet Ellen Mumma, 82, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 07, 1940, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania to the late Lloyd and Florence (Stucky) Strupp. Janet was a graduate of William Penn High School. She was the wife of her beloved husband, Ronald D. Mumma, for 61 wonderful years. Janet was a loving wife and an incredible mother to her two children. She was a homemaker and also was the Judge of Elections for the Penbrook Borough. Janet was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Penbrook.
She was one of 4 children and is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George Strupp, of Carlisle. Janet is survived by her beloved husband and best friend Ronald; brother, Lloyd Strupp of Camp Hill; a sister, Marilyn Charles of Liverpool; their son, Michael Mumma (Brenda); their daughter, Susan Lawrence (Robert) of Linglestown; Grandchildren, Michelle (John) Rihel of Grove City, Michael Jr. (Tyler) Mumma of Grantville, Nathan Lawrence of Linglestown; Great-grandchildren, Lily, Mason and Casey Rihel, and Austyn and Blaine Mumma.
Janet loved spending time with her family, going to her grandchildren?s sporting events, concerts and playing games. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to all of her flowers. Janet?s favorite place to vacation was the beach. For many years she enjoyed camping at Dresslers campground and spending time with her many friends. She was loved dearly by her husband, children, and grandchildren and will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held Monday, February 27, 2023, from 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM and the Memorial service to begin at 11:00 AM at the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. A luncheon will follow in the Jesse H. Geigle Hospitality suite. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made St. Jude or the Dauphin County Humane Society.
