Jane Sharp was born 14 Oct 1817, in Burlington, New Jersey, to William P and Sarah (Pierce) Sharp. She married Uriah McKinnon in 1832, in Logan County, Ohio. They had the following children: Nancy McKinnon (1833-1908) and William Henry Harrison McKinnon (1841-1907). After Mr. McKinnon died, Jane married 2nd, Isaac C Hunt. The date of that marriage was 18 August 1849. Isaac was the widower of Mary Squires Woodruff Hunt, and had fathered at least fourteen children with his wife Mary. I don't know if the marriage between Jane Sharp McKinnon and Reverend Isaac C Hunt produced any children.
William P Sharp was born 26 Dec 1787 in Eggharber,Atlantic,New Jersey,USA and died 27 Mar 1836 in Hardin County, Ohio. Sarah Pierce Sharp was born May 1787 in New Jersey, USA and died 7 Nov 1887 in Hardin County,Ohio at the age of 100 yrs, 6 mo. ~~ KSH

Izaac C. Hunt, a Methodist minister who, like many of the settlers, came from Ohio, held the "first religious services", in Franklin, according to the Lewis and Dunbar history. Later, in 1867, a Disciples of Christ Church was formed by 19 persons, meeting in the Franklin Grove School.

The Rev. Hunt came to Franklin grove in 1856. His wife Jane died May 14, 1861 at the age of 53. Most of the inscription on her gravestone is too worn out to read, but you can still make out the touching beginning, "Sleep my beloved....

NOTE from Mark Kellam: "Jane (Sharp) Hunt was the 2nd wife of the Rev. Isaac C. Hunt. My 4th gr-grandfather the Rev. Isaac C. Hunt was in Polk County, Oregon before 1870. William and John Davis were sons of my 2nd gr-grandparents John Miles & Vironicy ( Hunt ) Davis. Vironicy was a grandaugter of the Rev. Isaac C. Hunt. The DOBs and DODs for William and John Davis recorded in the Vironicy (Hunt) Davis Bible are an exact match to your inscriptions - stone William son of J.M. & V. Davis, born Sep 3, 1853 died Sep 4, 1854 John son of J.M. & V. Davis, born Jan 14, 1857 died Mar 4, 1857. I'll have more information as soon as I can go thru my files.
