Flora Ann Anthes, 75 of Centerview, Missouri passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Flora was born November 17, 1935 in Manistique, Michigan, daughter of Orville G. and Charlo M. (Kempf) Mayhew. She graduated from high school in Jonesville, Michigan. She moved with her family to several Michigan communities prior to making her home in Saginaw in the early 1950s, where she attended St. Mary?s Nursing School. She was a registered nurse at St. Mary?s Hospital at one time. Flora was united in marriage to Jacob M. Anthes on October 17, 1959 in Saginaw. The couple made their home in Joliet, Illinois for several years prior to moving to the Odessa, Missouri area. They had lived in the Centerview community for the past 39 years. She loved to knit and was an avid reader. Flora was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Jake; seven children: Chris Anthes and wife, Barb of Gillette, Wyoming; Justin Anthes and wife, Kim of Warrensburg, Missouri; Gabrielle Rich and husband, Roger of Overland Park, Kansas; Alisa McWilliams and husband, Bob of Lenexa, Kansas; Damian Anthes of Mason, Michigan; Hilary Hamlin and husband, Trent of Centerview, Missouri; and Kendra Wilson and husband, Larry of Leeton, Missouri; three sisters: Mary Mattson of Joliet, Illinois; Barbara Allen of Ypsilanti, Michigan; and Cathy Bullard of Midland, Michigan; twenty one grandchildren: Courtney, Morgan, Haley, Heather, Evan, Jared, Fletcher, Gavin, Callie, Tiffanie, Caleb, Tristan, Myranda, Ethan, Dylan, Luke, Clayton, Abby, Katie, Elle and Max;
Three great grandchildren: Danielle, Lillie and Isabel; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents.
Following cremation, there will be a private interment in the Columbus Christian Church Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions are suggested to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Foundation.
Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg is in charge of arrangements.
