Mumaw, John R., 89, Harrisonburg, Va. Born: March 12, 1904, Wayne Co., Ohio, to Amos and Catharine Schaum Mumaw. Died: June 20, 1993, Harrisonburg, Va. Survivors - wife: Evelyn King Mumaw; daughters: Helen Peachey, Grace, Catherine, Lois Martin, Miriam; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Memorial service: Lehman Auditorium, Eastern Mennonite College. Burial: June 23, Lindale Mennonite Church Cemetery.
He was the fourth president of Eastern Mennonite College, where he served from 1948-65. He served twice as moderator of the Mennonite Church (1961-63 and 1969-71).
