LEWIS MUMAW, 93, FUNERAL SERVICES HELD SATURDAY
One of the oldest residents of Versailles, Lewis Mumaw, 93, died at his home, 402 Virginia street, at 2 a.m. lasst Wednesday. He had been bedfast for the past year.
A native of Pennsylvania, Mr. Mumaw retired from farming 35 years ago. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic church here and the men's Sodality.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; six daughters, Mrs. Francis Harmon, Mrs. Josephine Grewe, Mrs. Marie Pierron, Mrs. Florence Grow, and Mrs. Emma Treon, all of Versailles, and Mrs. Mildred Olding, St. Henry; four sons, Leo and Fred of Versailles, Ben of Piqua and Ed Mumaw of Lockington, O., 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Alice McLanahan, Hamilton.
Services were held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Denis church, with the Rev. Goswin Menge officiating. Burial was made in St. Valbert's cemetery, Versailles.
