MARY MUMAW, OF VERSAILLES, SUCCUMBS AT 89
Mrs. Mary Mumaw, 89, of 402 Virginia street, widow of Lewis Mumaw, died last Wednesday at her residence. She had been ill for two months.
Born in Belfort, France, Dec. 15, 1870, she was a daughter of Louis and Frances Francis. She came to the United States when she was 10 years old and was married Dec. 31, 1891. Her husband died Oct. 2, 1957.
She was a charter member of the Versailles chapter of Daughters of Isabella, and St. Denis Church and St. Anne society of that church.
Survivors are four sons, Leo and Fred, both of Versailes, Ben of Piqua and Edward of Lockington; six daughters, Mrs. Frances Harmon, Mrs. Emma Treon, Mrs. Florence Grow, Mrs. Josephine Grewe and Mrs. Marie Pierron, all of Versailles and Mrs. Mildred Olding of St. Henry.
Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Frank (Minnie) Ziegler, of Piqua.
Rev. Edward Herb celebrated a requiem mass at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial was made in St. Valbert's cemetery.
