Frank and Lydia split up, with Pearl staying with her mom in Florence, AL. Frank went to Oklahoma, bringing his boys with him. This was likely 1895 - 1899, since he probably wouldn't bring the boys too young. Pearl was probably born between 1890 and 1895.
Frank lived nearby Agra ("Eegra") (Geraldine Parker has photo of Frank and boys?), which is how Ida (Jonce's daughter) knew him since she lived nearby. See Ida's photos of Frank w/Ida, and with Pearl. Apparently Pearl came to visit her father in OK about 1920.
Frank and Jonce were close friends. Jonce died before Frank. Frank also loved his nieces. In time, the Alabama family lost track of Frank and Jonce, and Ida never knew much about the Alabama clan.
Frank wrote letter to sister-in-law Hattie and her daughters on Oct 25, 1910 about settlement of Daniel's estate. Elizabeth had died in 1906, Daniel in 1899:
"My Dear nease I seat myself too drop you a feu lines too day too let you no I am still liven and I hope you are all alive and doin well. So good by may God bless you hettie from your old brother Frank Moomaw. Florence, AL Rout 3."
Ida Louella Moomaw recollections:
- He lived in Shamrock and Drumright, Creek Co, OK
- Knew about Pearl (Frank's daughter), and about two boys, and Mamie and Lydia
- Mamie was 2nd wife (makes sense if he left Lydia years earlier)
Robt Moomaw book reports Frank dying in Oklahoma City, but unclear who reported that. Frank was alive at least until 1920, as proved by picture of him and young Albert Shelhope probably in Stroud, OK.
Jim, Harry's son, speculates that Frank and his boys raised horses. Harry did that for most of his life, and it is believed that Eugene did likewise.

The census image is too faint for me to transcribe accurately. I can make out these names. The information suggests family went to AL where one child was born, went back to IN where another child was born, then returned to AL.

In 1880 in the same townshp, a Frank Moomaw, age 20 is living with an Alex Hamony family as a farm laborer. This is probably the same person as Elias F. Moomaw listed above and he was counted twice. Apparently his family called Elias, but he went by Frank.
In 1900, a Frank Moomaw is found living next to a "Jonce" (or James or Jones) in the 1900 Oklahoma census. I presume that Jonce is the same as Andrew J. Moomaw. Living so close would certainly suggest a close relationship.

His son, Harry, wrote his name as Benjamin Franklin Moomaw on one record. This is the only place where the name "Benjamin" appears. It is probably in error and was never used by Frank.
Other records now indicate that Frank remarried in 1926 to a woman named Effie. See her notes. She is listed in the 1930 census of Shamrock, Creek Co., OK
