Huffman , Glenn Stough - Whitney, Unity Township,
Glenn Stough Huffman, 95, of Whitney, Unity Township, Westmoreland County, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at Bethlen Home, Ligonier. He was born Nov. 30, 1909, in Whitney, a son of the late Amzi Andrew and Ada Catherine (Stough) Huffman. He was a retired farmer, farming the family farm that has been in the Huffman name since 1784 and is registered as a Pennsylvania Century Farm. He also once worked as a school bus driver for the former Hurst High School. He was part owner of Huffman's Dairy and later the owner of Glennville Farms. He was a founding member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Latrobe, and a former member and councilman of St. James Lutheran Church, Youngstown. He was a Unity Township school director and Republican committeeman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Morna Gail (Mumau) Huffman,1994; his sister, Mae Bartges; and four brothers, Luther, Byron, Charles and Paul Huffman. He is survived by his son, Richard Glenn Huffman, of Whitney; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Norma) Lemmon, of Latrobe, and Mrs. Nevin (Judith) Armel, of Acme; three grandsons, Leonard (Melanie) Lemmon, of Latrobe, Bryan (Ann) Armel, of Wyoming, and Adrian (Laurie) Armel, of Acme; four granddaughters, Linda (Dennis) Xander, of West Virginia, Gail (Edward) McCallen, of Latrobe, Sunday (James) Kareis, of Slickville, and Wendy (Mark) Berilla, of North Carolina; five great-grandsons, Adam Lemmon, James Armel, Eric Munden, and Lucas and Justin Berilla; seven great-granddaughters, Gwen (Lemmon) Sleasman, Melissa (Xander) Kennedy, Kathryn Xander, Kristina McCallen, Stacy McCallen, Sarah Armel and Sarah Munden; a great-great-granddaughter, Adison Carolyn Lemmon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the GAUT-BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., Pleasant Unity, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 12:20 p.m., followed by his funeral service to be held in the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Lawson Heights, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James E. Person officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1325 Mission Road, Latrobe, PA 15650.
