"ABRAHAM MUMAW DEAD.
ANOTHER PIONEER CALLED HOME. BURIAL TUESDAY.
Abraham Mumaw, one of the oldest citizens in the county, died Sunday night, of general debility at his home near Pleasant Hill. He had not been well for about two months and owing to his advanced age his death was not a surprise.
Abraham Mumaw was born in Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania March 2, 1817, aged 83 years, 3 months, and 7 days. When small he moved with his parents to Ohio. In 1852 he came to Indiana, settling on the farm where he has since lived, and where he died.
His wife, whose maiden name was Mary Shank, died eighteen years ago. He was the father of ten children, six of whom are dead. The four living are Mrs. L. M. Courtney of Elnora, Oliver of Oklahoma, John and Andrew of this township. In politics he was a strong republican.
He was a member of the U. B. church and was an active worker. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. L. L. Schoonover at Pleasant Hill Tuesday morning at ten o'clock, and burial in the nearby cemetery."
Abraham's death is recorded in the Daviess Co., IN records
