It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy R. Shepherd (Fort Lauderdale, Florida), who passed away on February 6, 2020, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Memorial services for Dorothy R. Shepherd (Robbins), a Junior League and P.E.O. member, community volunteer, model, singer and actress, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday 2/22/20 at the First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale. Dottie was the wife of the late S. D. (Steve) Shepherd of Ft. Lauderdale and Edmond, Oklahoma; the late George Edwin (Mike) Mumma) of Ft. Lauderdale, and the late Campbell Pilcher of Montclair, New Jersey. She was born, brought up and educated in Cambridge, Maryland and Washington, DC. Surrounded by a musical family, she was active all her life in church choirs, and sang, danced and acted with the Montclair Operetta Club and the Montclair Dramatic Club in Montclair, New Jersey for many years. She volunteered with the American Red Cross and was a member of the American Women's Volunteer Services in Washington, DC, 1942 ? 1945 where she rolled bandages and was a nurse's aide. She served as one of the original Hostesses at the Stage Door Canteen and Officers' Club in Washington, DC. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Cathedral choir. Dottie is survived by her daughter Sally B. Pilcher, son S. Colin Pilcher and his wife Elizabeth L. Pilcher; grandson Zachary T. Pilcher, his fianc?e Jessica Marshall and great-grand daughter Avery Pilcher. She is also survived by her sister Mrs. Russell S. Baker and her husband Russell S. Baker, Jr., Russell S. Baker the 3rd and his wife Laura, Carol J. Baker, and Robin and Bruce Herman, as well as several grand-nieces and grand-nephews, all of the Cambridge, Maryland area. Additional survivors are Lyn Sherman of Vancouver, Washington; Steve and Shannon Shepherd and their families in Edmond, Oklahoma.
