Obituary
Mrs. Minnie B. Rankin, 71, wife of O. W. (Caddy) Rankin, 240 East High street, died at 7:55 p.m. Friday at the Huntington county hospital where she was taken last Monday morning. She had been in failing health for the last three years and was seriously ill two and one-half years.
Mrs. Rankin was born April 9, 1883 at Springfield, Ohio, to Franklin and Amanda Kershner Mumma. She married Mr. Rankin September 2, 1902, at Springfield. The couple came to this city in 1903 and lived here since that time, the last 17 years at the East High street address.
Surviving are the husband, four daughters, Mrs. Myrtle McMillen and Mrs. Edna Owens, this city; Mrs. Ethel Murphy, Gary, and Mrs. Audrey Eckert, Wabash; two sons, Larry Rankin, Frankfort and Forrest Rankin, Indianapolis; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two brothers, William Mumma, Springfield, Ohio, and Burton Mumma, New Carlisle, Ohio. A son, Warren, two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Schulz and an infant, Helen, and two brothers are dead.
Friends may call at Bailey Mortuary where funeral services will be held in the chapel at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. J. Maurice Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery.
