Connellsville, Pa., Nov. 16---News has been received here by Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Berger of the death in Chicago of Chester R. Burns, who for several years was road foreman of engines on the Connellsville division, Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Death occurred Wednesday from peritonitis and pneumonia following gall bladder rupture.
Mr. Burns was road foreman for the Baltimore and Ohio in the Chicago area at the time of his death. He was 59 years old.
Born at Hyndman, Mr. Burns entered the employ of the Baltimore and Ohio in his youth. He married Mis Adeline Mumaw, of Hagerstown, Md., while she was living in Connellsville. Their children were born here and were of grade and high school age when the family moved to Chicago 14 years ago.
Surviving, besides his wife, are three sons and three daughters: Elwood, in Illinois; Lester and Emerson, Chicago; Dorcas Marcella, Madelyn, in California, and Emilie, on Aruba Island, in the West Indies, all three married. Mr. Burns was a nephew of Mrs. Anna D. Mason, of Edenboro, formerly of Connellsville.
The funeral was held this afternoon in Chicago.
