Clyde S. Mumma, ----Trainer, Farmer
Clyde S. Mumma, 78, of Mumma Stock Farm, box 56, Landisville, died Friday afternoon at the St. Joseph Hospital following a brief illness.
He was the husband of Kathleen V. Martin Mumma. Born in Landisville, he was the son of the late Harry L. and Elizabeth Stehman Mumma.
He was the owner and trainer of Charter Oak Trotting Horse and other well known trotting horses. He was previously a dairy farmer and owned the Sunnyside Dairies. He was a member of the Elks Club, the Unites States Trorring Association and the Pennsylvania Harness Horseman's Association and a charter member of the Lancaster County Riding Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jack, Royal Palm Beach, Fla. and C. Jerry Mumma Rich Hill, Mo., three daughters, Betsy Ellis, Elizabethtown, Patsy A., Reinbold, and Sandra J. West, both of Lancaster, 10grandchildren and three great-grand children.
Also surviving are a brother Harry, Landisville and two sisters, Bertha Miller, Akron, and Ethel Rohrer, Strasburg.
