John E. Bear, 90, died Friday morning at Dickinson County Memorial hospital. Mr. Bear had lived in Abilene and the surrounding community for more than 87 years. He was born at Gettysburg, Pa, Aug 6, 1868, and came to Dickinson county in 1871.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Esther Knapp, a granddaughter, Mrs. Ellen Lacey and two great-grandchildren, all of Abilene, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at the Danner Funeral home Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. G. P. Minner officiating. Burial will be in the Abilene cemetery.
Abilele Chronicle - Dick co marriage rec John E. Bear and Olivia V. Lady married 6 Aug 1891. Came to Dickinson County in 1871.
