Dennis Mumma
MARLBORO, N.J. -- Dennis Mumma, 54, of Morganville,N.J., Township of Marlboro, died Thursday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, N.J.
He was born in Connersville, Ind., to Charles and Jean Mumma. He moved to Coffeyville and later Pittsburg. He attended Horace Mann School and Lakeside School. In 1958 the family moved to New Jersey. He lived in Paramus, N.J., before moving to Morganville 15 years ago.
He was an electronics engineer for Lucent Technologies, Holmdel, N.J., before retiring this year. He was a member of the Bergen Amateur Radio Association, and a volunteer firefighter for Paramus Fire Company 3.
He was honored by NASA on Aug. 16, 1985, for his accomplishments in developing and building parts for the Hubble Space Telescope.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Lois Mumma; a son, Douglas Mumma of Morganville; two daughters, Michele and Christina Mumma, both of Freehold,N.J., two brothers, Calvin Mumma of Pittsburg and Lyle Mumma of Florida; a sister, Selwyn Elledge of Florida; and his mother, of Pittsburg.
